With nearly 2 decades of continually evolving and progressing career experience (within the Creative Marketing Industry), Mark has had the opportunity to deeply study, practice and advance in a wide range of [DESIGN] Disciplines.

> Mark's first Advertisement was published in April, 1986, when he was in Grade 2. He had participated in the Advertising & Drawing Project at the Scarborough Town Centre in connection to Education WeekFrom that moment, he knew he wanted to pursue a Creative Career. He began attending Saturday Morning Classes for the Gifted in Visual Arts throughout the 80’s, and continued to tailor his education (from middle school to high school) around the Arts, Marketing, Desktop Publishing (QuarkXPress) and English.

Mark's actual creative/marketing career began as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator, freelancing for several creative boutiques, in and outside of Toronto, while studying Design & Adverting at George Brown 97'-00'. /// During this time Mark was also curating 'Art with Audio' Culture Events @ IV lounge, Green Room, ZEN, Blue Moon, The Reverb, Big Bop, Lee’s Palace, El Mocambo, etc…)

In 2000, Mark was presented with an amazing opportunity to work and study Design Strategy under Sabaa Quao, President and Creative Director of X Corporation

In 2003 Echo Advertising + Marketing Inc. offered Mark an exciting position to primarily lead their Entertainment + Youth Accounts in Design & Advertising. There he worked directly with President, Barry Avrich + Founder/CEO, Len Gill, on projects for artists like The Rolling Stones and James BrownThroughout his 3 years at Echo, Mark was also involved in the strategy and creative direction on New Business + Brand Development.

In 2006 Mark joined the Hive Strategic Marketing Inc. to help Brand & Advance Live Nation, the Worlds Largest 'Live Entertainment' company. During his time there he also lead all the creative + design for RBK (Reebok Hockey Global) - Print, Digital, Outdoor, Television, Digital and more. /// He also internationally Branded & Launched various New Products for Reebok (The O-Stick, 9K Pump Skate and EDGE apparel), and transitioned the brand from RBK Hockey to Reebok, as well as it's position, 'I am what I am' to 'Your Move'.
At the Hive Mark also conceptualized experiential event concepts + re-designed the international brand identities for Tuaca Liquore ItalianoChambord French Liqueur and other 'Developing Brands' for Brown-Formans.
During his 2 years at the Hive Inc., Mark moved from Art Director to Senior Art Director and was highly involved in the Strategy, Creative Direction and Design for several global campaigns + promotional programs for these and other clients.

In 2008 Mark moved to Tokyo (to expand his portfolio into the Japanese Market) and created HITOSAN - a small freelancing unit of design innovators who operated on the principles of 'Design Thinking' and the theory that 'Design Intelligence' could be applied to all facets/levels of marketing. /// Together they produced [PLACE] An Alternative Approach to Marketing Complex Identities (which was a thesis x business proposal on city branding, that they utilized to open many doors abroad).

While independently working in Japan, Mark also took on the position of Strategic Planner at one of Tokyo’s trendiest marketing boutiques - Answr Inc./Public Image. There he helped conceptualize/produce the METHOD creative conference - an industry event designed for entertainment and education, based upon 'diverse collaborations' and emerging technologies for future of communication.

In 2010 Mark moved back to Toronto, but continued freelancing as a CD through HITOSAN, for a handful of start-up clients (local and abroad). During this time, Mark also maintained a large contact for Can-West Off-Air Advertising, were he Lead the Design Direction for several networks/channels in - Promo/Outdoor/Experiential... In 2011, Mark initiated the Internal Brand Crossover (Can-west to Shaw Media)

In the of Winter 2011, Mark excitedly joined the Leadership Team at Diamond (a semi-start-up XM Agency founded by 3 brothers). In his first year Mark Built, Lead and Managed the Creative Department. Starting from scratch his dept. grew, along with the business, 1 to 15+ teammates (@peak) - which included various levels of AD’s, Writers, Designers, Strategists, Animators, Editors, Production Artists, Producers… Mark also assembled/hired, got the senior wheels turning on: A. Production/Fabrication, B. Insights/Strategy, and C. Video/Content, dividing + expanding his initial (eclectic-diverse-multidisciplinary) Creative Team, into four viable departments. 
At Diamond Mark was the Brand Transformer who intersected Branding, Experiential Marketing and Spatial Design + Architecture. In Quebec, he transformed a dusty community arena into a sleek, modern Sports + Entertainment and Dining facially - SPORTPLEXE - Perriefonds.

Finally, with the Great Successes in Experiential for TD (Examples Here) Mark was able to move the needle from Designing 10x10 Spatial Footprints into leading the Architectural Design for TD Future Flagship Branches, to also helping secure a 'spatial_x' partnership deal with Historic Union Station

At Diamond Mark also ::: explored and initiated various unorthodox ideation methods + experimented with various tactile workflow/tracking systems ::: helped craft the company’s vision ::: developed new business ::: and captured over 50+ industry awards.

Overall, within 3 years Mark helped advance Diamond from unlisted, into the one of Canada’s Top 20 Marketing Agencies - according to Strategy 2015 - helping turn the XM boutique into a globally recognized agency.

In 2017, Mark reluctantly retired from Diamond and returned to freelancing-consulting to gain more flexibility (freeing himself to traveling back and forth to Japan - for family). /// In 2018, Mark began creative consulting for FSI - Fresh Squeezed Ideas ::: the first market research company to synergize Cultural Anthropology and Behavioural Science methodologies to Decode the Human Experience + Decision Making Process. 
"At FSI Mark was able to put a design lens into the initial market research/data… Helping turn insight into actions - to better 'creatively brief' the lead AD Agencies."
In 2019, in partnership with SMI (a Toronto Textile Company), Mark proudly helped initiated an 'up-cycling’ program to reduce the amount of waste that happens in the linen/event/décor industry. Together the team is doing a small part in limiting waste, by designing/manufacturing fully up-cycled + one-of-a-kind products like: Luxurious picnic blankets, glamping sac's, quilts, to some radically smokin' pants.
